66 BIBLE BOOKS
The Bible contains 66 books, divided into the Old Testament and the New Testament. Each book reveals God’s truth, His character, His plan for humanity, and His message of salvation through Jesus Christ.
OLD TESTAMENT
The Old Testament contains 39 books. These books reveal God’s creation, His covenant with His people, the history of Israel, wisdom, worship, prophecy, and God’s plan of redemption.
PENTATEUCH
The Pentateuch is the first five books of the Bible: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. These books present creation, the beginnings of humanity, God’s covenant, the formation of Israel, the Law, worship, and God’s relationship with His people.
HISTORICAL BOOKS
The Historical Books describe the history of Israel from the conquest of the Promised Land through the period of the kings, exile, and restoration. They include Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, and Esther.
POETRY & WISDOM
The Poetry and Wisdom Books explore worship, suffering, wisdom, relationships, human life, and the fear of God. They include Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Solomon.
MAJOR PROPHETS
The Major Prophets contain messages of warning, judgment, hope, restoration, and God’s faithfulness. They include Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, and Daniel.
MINOR PROPHETS
The Minor Prophets contain twelve prophetic books addressing repentance, justice, judgment, restoration, God’s covenant, and hope. They include Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi.
NEW TESTAMENT
The New Testament contains 27 books centered on Jesus Christ, His life, teachings, death, resurrection, the growth of the early Church, Christian faith, and the hope of His return.
THE GOSPELS
The four Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—present the life, ministry, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ from different perspectives.
ACTS OF THE APOSTLES
The Book of Acts records the work of the Holy Spirit and the growth of the early Christian Church through the ministry of the apostles, especially Peter and Paul
PAUL’S EPISTLES
Paul’s Epistles provide teaching and encouragement concerning the Gospel, salvation, Christian living, the Church, faith, grace, spiritual growth, and hope in Christ.
GENERAL EPISTLES
The General Epistles provide practical and theological instruction for Christian life, faith, perseverance, holiness, love, wisdom, and faithful living.
REVELATION
The Book of Revelation presents a prophetic vision concerning Jesus Christ, the Church, spiritual conflict, judgment, God’s ultimate victory, and the hope of the new heaven and new earth.
